I use a teeny tiny leaf shaped punch to make the tiny leaves and then use the paper that I've punched them out of on the bottom to simulate the fallen leaves

Birch Wood Etching - Autumn Leaves Edition octopus I use a teeny tinyI love driving through the birch forests at the edges of the mountains of the Northwest. They also make me think of Russia and I wonder if maybe Baba Yaga's hut is somewhere just out of frame, waiting on its chicken legs. In this version of the print, I've employed the chine coll technique of using thinner cut paper to add color and texture to the larger print by using the press to collage and print on top of it simultaneously.
