Poro Karaka Kete Tapatapapahi Ana refers to somethingThis framed tauira is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from the Taylor River in Blenheim. The harakeke has been boiled and dyed (orange) to preserve it, and was saved from the off cuts of a kete. Poro means to be cut off or be trimmed, and Karaka refers to the colour orange.
