The show was based on a 1903 opera of the same name by Dmitri Shostakovich, which drew inspiration from an earlier story written by Nikolai Gogol in 1836. This hand signed, limited edition print was commissioned by Lincoln Center in conjunction with the project and was created by the artist at the Brodsky Center
