Your Himalayan adventure begins in Dehradun, where you board your vehicle for a long yet scenic drive into the heart of the Garhwal Himalayas. The road winds through pine-covered hills, river valleys, and charming Uttarakhand towns. En route, you’ll follow the shimmering waters of the Yamuna and Tons rivers, with glimpses of terraced fields and snow-dusted peaks teasing the journey ahead. By late evening, you reach Sankri—a quaint mountain village and the gateway to the Bali Pass Trek. Enjoy a warm meal, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and rest for the adventure ahead.

A short morning drive takes you to Dharkot, the starting point of your trek. From here, you step onto a trail that meanders alongside the gushing Tons River, surrounded by oak and pine forests. The air is fresh with the scent of Himalayan flora. Along the way, you pass Osla, a traditional village known for its wooden houses and rich folklore. Your day’s destination, Seema, is a peaceful settlement offering a perfect first night in the wild, with the stars blazing overhead.

Today’s trail takes you deeper into alpine landscapes as you climb steadily towards Devsu Bugyal. This vast high-altitude meadow unfurls like a green carpet surrounded by pine and birch forests. From the meadow’s edge, you can spot the snow peaks of Swargarohini, hinting at the grandeur to come.

Today’s journey is slow and deliberate, as you traverse rocky terrain and snow patches to reach the Bali Pass Base Camp. Surrounded by panoramic views of Himalayan giants, the campsite offers a surreal sense of isolation and grandeur. Rest well—it’s the calm before tomorrow’s exhilarating storm.

The highlight of the trek—and its most demanding day. An early start sees you ascending steep snow slopes to reach the crest of Bali Pass. The view from the top is nothing short of divine: Swargarohini, Bandarpunch, and Kala Nag stand guard over endless valleys. After taking in the panorama, you begin a long, careful descent to Lower Damini, where green pastures and pine forests signal the end of the high-altitude challenge.

The final leg of your Himalayan journey begins with a gentle yet scenic descent from Lower Damini to Janki Chatti, passing through lush forests and mountain hamlets. Here, you can feel the sacred aura of the Yamunotri Valley, home to one of the revered Char Dham pilgrimage sites. After soaking in the spiritual atmosphere, you board your vehicle for the long but rewarding drive back to Dehradun. As the mountains fade in your rearview mirror, you carry home not just breathtaking photos, but the memories of crossing one of the Himalayas’ most thrilling high passes.
In case of bad weather or other difficulties, Day 9 is reserved as a buffer day. This will only get used if unexpected and unforeseeable conditions present themselves at the last minute. But you are advised to account for the buffer day while planning your travel. If the buffer day is used, you will be required to pay Rs. 2,000/ + 5% GST per person. The amount will be collected by the Trek Leader.
