Biography

Limca Book of Records Holder | Government Officer | Mountaineer | Cyclist | Explorer

Ajita Baburaj, 58, is an inspiration in every sense of the word. A Government Officer based in Vadodara, Gujarat, she has successfully balanced the three Ps of life – Professional, Personal, and Passion – while carving her identity as a remarkable adventurer.

Her journey into the world of exploration began at the young age of 19, when she completed her first mountaineering expedition. What started as a spark soon became a lifelong passion, leading her to conquer challenges on mountains and roads alike.

Ajita holds a Limca Book of Records for cycling from Kullu to Khardung La (18,380 ft), the world’s highest motorable pass. She is also the first Indian woman to complete a cycling expedition across Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore (Three Women, Three Countries), a historic feat accomplished between 30th January and 28th February 2020.

Her love for cycling has taken her across various parts of India and Europe, where she continues to push limits, discover cultures, and map the landscapes of both the world and the mind. For Ajita, expeditions are not just about the destination but also about the journey within.

As a mentor of Nomadic World, she inspires fellow adventurers to pursue their dreams fearlessly, proving that age is never a barrier when passion leads the way. With her guidance, Nomadic World stands stronger in its mission to blend adventure, exploration, and self-discovery.

✨ “Expeditions give me a newer source of experience, and my sojourns with cycling make me feel alive.” – Ajita Baburaj
