With over 30 years of experience, Shanker Singh has been a driving force in India’s adventure sports landscape. A certified paragliding instructor, mountaineer, and rescue expert, he has significantly contributed to Uttarakhand’s tourism policy and aero-sports infrastructure.
As Aero Sports Consultant to the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, he led safety audits, training programs, and launched 50+ aero-sport sites across the state. He has represented India in international paragliding championships, earning a podium at Mantar XC Open 2017.
He was the founder and served as the Secretary of the Paragliding Association of Uttarakhand (PAU). He actively mentors emerging adventure enthusiasts, helping them develop the skills and mindset needed to thrive in the outdoors. A strong advocate for sustainable and community-based tourism, he promotes responsible travel practices that benefit local communities and protect natural ecosystems.
Driven by a spirit of exploration, he has pioneered and mapped several lesser-known trekking routes across the Indian Himalayas. His portfolio includes leading challenging expeditions in remote terrains, contributing not only to adventure tourism but also to a deeper understanding of these high-altitude landscapes.
