ITINERARY

Day 1Drive from Shimla to Janglik.

Drive Distance: 160 km | Drive Duration: 9-10 hours approx. | Altitude: Janglik – 2804m | Pick up point: ISBT,TUTIKANDI,SHIMLA

Your adventure begins with a long and scenic drive from Shimla to Janglik, a quaint Himalayan village that serves as the starting point of the trek. The journey takes you through winding mountain roads, apple orchards, and beautiful Himachali landscapes. As you arrive in Janglik, you’ll be welcomed by the charm of traditional wooden houses and a serene mountain atmosphere—perfect to prepare you for the days ahead.

Day 2Janglik to Dayara Thatch.

Trek Distance: 6-7 km approx. | Trek Duration: 5-6 hours approx. | Altitude: Dayara Thatch – 3400m. | GPS DATA

The trail from Janglik to Dayara Thatch gradually ascends through lush pine and oak forests, opening up into vast meadows. These meadows, known as thatch locally, are dotted with wildflowers and surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Dayara Thatch is one of the most picturesque campsites of the trek, offering wide-open spaces and stunning sunset views.

Day 3Dayara Thatch to Litham.

Trek Distance: 4-5 km approx.  | Trek Duration: 3-4 hrs approx. | Altitude: Litham – 3600m. | GPS DATA 

Today’s trail is relatively short but rewarding. You’ll walk through rolling meadows and cross streams fed by glacial waters. The landscape keeps changing as you leave the grassy expanse behind and move closer to Litham. Situated near a gushing river and surrounded by high mountains, Litham makes for a dramatic campsite where trekkers often get their first real sense of high-altitude wilderness.

Day 4Litham to Chandranahan Lake and back to Litham (Acclimatization Day).

Trek Distance: 6 km approx. (Both side) | Trek Duration: 4-5 hrs approx. | Altitude: Chandranahan Lake– 4029m. | GPS DATA 

This day is crucial for acclimatization. A short hike takes you to the pristine Chandranahan Lake, fed by snowmelt and nestled at an altitude of over 4,000 meters. This glacial lake is sacred to locals and surrounded by rugged peaks. The breathtaking views and crystal-clear waters make it a highlight of the trek. After spending time at the lake, you’ll descend back to Litham for the night.

Day 5Litham to Dunda.

Trek Distance: 5.5 km approx. | Trek Duration: 5-6 hrs approx. | Altitude: Dunda– 4025m.GPS DATA 

The trek now gains altitude steadily as you make your way to Dunda. The climb is moderate but offers sweeping views of snow-clad ridges and valleys below. Dunda, your campsite for the night, is situated just below the mighty Buran Ghati Pass. This campsite provides the best panoramic views of the trek and prepares you for the big crossing ahead.

Day 6Dunda to Munirang Via Buranghati Pass.

Trek Distance: 8-9 km approx. | Trek Duration: 10-11 hrs approx. | Altitude: Buran Ghati Pass- 4572m | Munirang – 3338m. | GPS DATA 

This is the most thrilling and challenging day of the trek. Starting early, you ascend towards the Buran Ghati Pass, which stands at a staggering 15,000 ft. From the top, the views are breathtaking—snowy ridges and endless Himalayan ranges all around.

The real adventure begins during the descent, where trekkers rappel down steep snow walls with ropes—a once-in-a-lifetime adrenaline experience. After a long and exciting day, you finally reach Munirang, a campsite surrounded by forests at lower altitude.

Day 7Munirang to Barua Village and Drive to Shimla.

Trek Distance: 5-6 km approx. | Trek Duration: 2-3 hrs approx. | Drive Distance: 207 km | Drive Duration: 7-8 approx. | Altitude: Barua – 2510m | Drop point: ISBT,TUTIKANDI, SHIMLA. | GPS DATA 

The final day of the trek takes you through pine forests and fruit orchards as you descend to Barua Village. The trail is filled with cultural charm as you pass traditional homes and terraced fields. From Barua, a drive takes you back to Shimla, marking the end of your Buran Ghati adventure with unforgettable memories.

CANCELLATION POLICY & REFUND POLICY

  • Special Cancellation Policy 

       A) We have implemented a special cancellation policy:

  1.  Before 60 Days: 90% Refund.
  2.  31-60 Days: 75% Refund.
  3.  Within 30 Days: 50% Refund.
  4.  Within 14 Days: No Refund.

Payment & Booking Policy

A booking fee of ₹5,000 is required to confirm your spot. The remaining trek fee must be paid at least 15 days before the trek start date. If the full payment is not received on time, your booking may be cancelled. The ₹5,000 booking fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Our cancellation policy applies to the entire trek fee, not just the booking amount. For any questions or assistance with payment, feel free to contact us.

       B) Rescheduling Policy

  • Rescheduling Within the Same Trip or Changing the Trek.
  • Rescheduling is subject to availability. Trek costs may vary depending on the location and will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Guests have the option to reschedule their trek and utilize the amount paid within 1 year.

 

  • Refund Process: Refunds will be issued by mail only and processed within 15 business days from the date of cancellation.
  • Unforeseen Changes: In the event of an emergency, we may reroute treks to alternative trails. Mental preparedness for such situations is advised.
  • Documents Required: Trekkers must carry a photocopy of their photo ID, along with the mandatory Medical Certificate and Disclaimer forms for trek permissions before and during the trek

Do I need any prior experience?

The Buran Ghati Trek is often described as the “perfect Himalayan trek”, but it’s also a moderately challenging one. You don’t need to be a professional mountaineer, but a certain level of trekking exposure and fitness is highly recommended.

  • Fit beginners who have good stamina and are comfortable with long hikes.

  • Intermediate trekkers who have already completed easy to moderate Himalayan treks like Kedarkantha, Brahmatal, Hampta Pass, or Kuari Pass.

How do I reach Shimla, Himachal Pradesh?

  • By Air: Nearest airport is Chandigarh (120 km). From there, take a taxi or Volvo bus (3–4 hrs).

  • By Train: Nearest railhead is Kalka (90 km). Connect from Delhi/Chandigarh and continue by road or the scenic Kalka–Shimla Toy Train.

  • By Road: Regular Volvo/HRTC buses from Delhi (350 km) and Chandigarh (120 km).

Will there be mobile network or internet access?

Mobile network is limited and patchy during the trek.

  • You may get basic connectivity at Janglik and sometimes near Barua village.

  • Once you move deeper into the trek (Dayara, Litham, Dunda, Pass area), there is usually no mobile signal or internet access.

  • BSNL has the widest reach in remote regions, but it’s not reliable.

👉 We recommend informing family/friends beforehand and enjoying the trek as a true digital detox experience.

Is the trek safe for solo travellers and women?

Yes, absolutely.
