Unlike regular treks, the Chadar Trek offers an extreme adventure experience — walking over a frozen river, navigating slippery ice sheets, and camping in remote villages where traditional Ladakhi life continues amidst sub-zero temperatures. Your winter adventure begins the moment you land at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh, one of the world’s highest airports, surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks. Upon arrival, our team will welcome you and assist with a comfortable transfer to your hotel.
Since Leh sits at a high altitude of 3,500 meters, it is essential to spend the day acclimatizing and relaxing. Avoid strenuous activities and focus on hydrating well to help your body adjust to the thin mountain air.
Take time to enjoy the stunning winter landscape — snow-dusted mountains, crisp blue skies, and the serene ambience of the Leh valley. If you feel up to it, take a gentle stroll around the town to get a first glimpse of local life. You can explore the Leh bazaar, sip traditional butter tea, or admire the majestic Himalayan backdrop from your hotel.
As evening falls, the sky transforms into a star-studded canvas, offering a magical introduction to Ladakh in winter. Gather for a welcome briefing by your trek leader, who will provide an overview of the Chadar Trek, essential safety guidelines, and tips for staying warm during the expedition.

Today is dedicated to acclimatization, a critical step for a safe high-altitude trek. Begin your day with a leisurely breakfast, hydrating well to prepare your body for the thin mountain air. Take an easy walk around Leh, breathing in the crisp winter air, and explore the Shanti Stupa, perched on a hill offering panoramic views of the snow-dusted valley.
If the weather permits, visit the Leh Palace, a 17th-century architectural marvel, or stroll through the local bazaar, where you can sample traditional Ladakhi snacks and warm butter tea. In the evening, your trek leader will conduct a pre-trek briefing, discussing the itinerary, safety precautions, gear checks, and tips for walking on ice and snow.

A vital day for ensuring everyone is medically fit for the extreme winter conditions. Undergo a comprehensive medical check-up, including vital signs, oxygen levels, and fitness assessment. This is also the time to finalize your trekking gear, check snow boots, crampons, and other essentials.
Use the rest of the day to relax, hydrate, and mentally prepare for the adventure ahead. A calm, well-rested body and mind will help you enjoy the challenges of the Chadar Trek to the fullest.

Begin your adventure with a scenic drive through the rugged Zanskar landscapes to Dibo/Tilado. The winding roads, frozen rivers, and snow-draped cliffs set the tone for the expedition ahead. From Dibo/Tilado, start your short trek to Shingra Yokma, your first campsite on the frozen river trail.
Enjoy the thrill of walking on icy paths, surrounded by winter wilderness. The sound of footsteps crunching on snow, the icy wind, and the towering cliffs create a surreal and unforgettable experience. Settle into your homely campsite in Shingra Yokma, enjoy a hot meal, and rest for the night.

Follow the frozen Zanskar River, navigating through ice sheets and snow-laden trails. The trek is moderately challenging, requiring focus due to slippery terrain. Along the way, witness dramatic cliffs, frozen waterfalls, and snow-covered gorges.
Arrive at Shingra Goma, a remote campsite surrounded by untouched winter landscapes. Enjoy a warm campfire, sharing stories with fellow trekkers under the starry Himalayan sky.

Continue along the frozen Zanskar River, soaking in the breathtaking winter scenery. The trail today features snow caves, icy gorges, and frozen waterfalls, offering countless photography opportunities. The quiet and serenity of the valley make each step magical.
Reach Tsomo Paldar campsite by afternoon and settle in. The remote location and icy surroundings make this an unforgettable Himalayan winter experience.

A long but exhilarating day as you trek back upstream along the Chadar. Navigate through icy patches, narrow gorges, and cliffs towering above the frozen river. This challenging stretch tests endurance but rewards you with stunning vistas and a sense of accomplishment.
Reach Shingra Yokma by evening. Relax, enjoy a warm meal, and reflect on one of the most adventurous days of your trek.

After the trek, board your vehicle for the drive back to Leh. Arrive by evening, check into your hotel, and rest. Reflect on the incredible winter adventure you just completed.

Visits to Nerak Waterfall will be prioritized on Sunday or Wednesday, depending on the camp location on that day.

Keep 1–2 buffer days in your travel plan. If not used for travel, these can be spent exploring Leh and nearby attractions.

• Altoa & Environmental / Wildlife Permit Fees. Charge 6k to 8k approx. to be paid on the spot to the authorities.

A) We have implemented a special cancellation policy:
Payment & Booking Policy
A booking fee of ₹10,000 is required to confirm your spot. The remaining trek fee must be paid at least 15 days before the trek start date. If the full payment is not received on time, your booking may be cancelled. The ₹10,000 booking fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Our cancellation policy applies to the entire trek fee, not just the booking amount. For any questions or assistance with payment, feel free to contact us.

Yes, prior high-altitude trekking experience is recommended. Everest Base Camp Trek is a moderate to difficult trek, with steep ascents, long walking days, and high altitude. You should have good physical fitness and mental endurance.
Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (IXL) is the main airport in Leh, well-connected to major Indian cities.
Regular flights operate from Delhi, Srinagar, and Chandigarh.
Flight duration: Delhi → Leh ~1.5 hrs; Srinagar → Leh ~1 hr.
Tip: Book flights in advance, especially during the trekking season (June–September). Flights are weather-dependent, so plan for possible delays.
In Leh, you’ll have all the networks and internet.
Once the trek starts, network and internet connectivity will not be available beyond Solang Valley. Be prepared to be off-grid.
Yes, it’s completely safe for solo and female trekkers. We ensure a professional, respectful environment with trained guides, group support, and safe camping practices.
Children (14+ years) can join with proper fitness and enthusiasm
Senior citizens can participate if they are in good health and medically cleared for high-altitude trekking.
