Day 2Manali – Drive from Manali to Dhundi and Trek to Lohuli Thatch.

Drive Distance: 21 Km.approx. | Drive Duration: 2 hrs approx.| Trek Distance: 4 km approx. | Trek Duration: 3-4 hours approx. | Altitude: Lohuli Thatch – 3280m.

Begin the day with a scenic drive from Manali to Dhundi, a small settlement located in the Solang Valley. The route passes through forests of deodar and oak, with views of snow-clad peaks in the distance. Dhundi also serves as the starting point for several renowned Himalayan expeditions. From Dhundi, start trekking towards Lohuli Thatch, a beautiful meadow surrounded by towering mountains. The trail winds through alpine forests, streams, and open pastures, gradually gaining altitude. The campsite at Lohuli Thatch offers spectacular views and serves as the perfect setting for your first night in the wilderness.

Day 3Bakarthatch – Trek from Lohuli Thatch to Lady Leg Base Camp And Practice.

Trek Distance: 4 km approx.  | Trek Duration: 4-5 hrs approx. | Altitude: Lady Leg – 3900m.

Today’s trek is short in distance but involves a steeper climb compared to yesterday’s. The trail ascends steadily from Bakarthatch through alpine meadows and rocky patches, gradually leading into snow-covered terrain as you gain height. By afternoon, you’ll reach Lady Leg campsite, beautifully set against the backdrop of towering peaks. This campsite gets its name from the distinct shape of the slope resembling a “lady’s leg.” From here, you get panoramic views of Friendship Peak, Manali Peak, and the surrounding ranges.

Day 4Load Ferry to Summit Camp and Back to Lady Leg (Acclimatization Day).

Trek Distance: 4.5 km approx. (Both sides) | Trek Duration: 6-7 hrs approx. | Altitude: Summit Camp– 4750 m.

Today is an acclimatization and load ferry day. You will trek from Lady Leg to Summit Camp carrying essential gear and supplies. This short trek helps your body adjust to a higher altitude and prepares you for the summit attempt. After delivering the gear, you will return to Lady Leg to rest for the night. This gradual ascent is crucial for preventing altitude sickness and allows your body to adapt comfortably to thin air.

Day 5Move to Summit Camp.

Trek Distance: 2 km approx. | Trek Duration: 2-3 hrs approx. | Altitude: Summit Camp– 4750 m.

Today, you will move fully from Lady Leg to Summit Camp, carrying only your personal gear. This short but steady trek positions you closer to Friendship Peak and allows you to acclimatize further for the summit attempt.

At Summit Camp, you will:

a) Settle into your tents and organize personal equipment.

b) Rest and hydrate while preparing mentally and physically for the early morning summit climb.

c) Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, glaciers, and valleys.

Day 6Summit Attempt and Back to Lady Leg Via Summit Camp.

Trek Distance: 12 km approx. | Trek Duration: 10-11 hrs approx. | Altitude: Friendship Peak- 5287m | Lady Leg:  3900 m.

Today is the highlight of the expedition—the summit attempt. You will begin before dawn to maximize daylight and favorable snow conditions. The climb is challenging and involves:

  • Negotiating steep slopes

  • Crossing snowfields and glacial sections

  • Careful navigation over rocky and icy terrain

Upon reaching the summit, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges, glaciers, and neighboring peaks. After taking in the experience and capturing photos, you will descend back to Summit Camp, rest briefly, and then continue further down to Lady Leg campsite for the night.

Day 7 Lady Leg to Dhundi and Drive to Manali.

Trek Distance: 8-9 km approx. | Trek Duration: 5-6  hrs approx. | Drive Distance: 21 km | Drive Duration: 2 approx. | Altitude: Manali– 2000 m | Drop point: Manali, Near Bridge.

Today marks the descent from the high-altitude camps back to Manali. Begin your trek from Lady Leg down to Dhundi, retracing the route you took on Day 2. The descent is long but less physically demanding than the ascent, and provides an opportunity to relax and enjoy the surrounding alpine scenery one last time.

Once you reach Dhundi, board the vehicle for a drive back to Manali, concluding the expedition portion of your journey.

Day 8Buffer Day.

In case of bad weather, natural delays, or other unforeseen difficulties, Day 8 is reserved as a Buffer Day. This will only be used if conditions at the last minute prevent the itinerary from continuing as planned.

⚠️ Important Note:

  • Trekkers are advised to plan their travel keeping the buffer day in mind.

  • If the buffer day is utilized, an additional fee of ₹2,500 + 5% GST per person will be charged.

  • The amount will be collected directly by the Trek Leader on the spot.

This ensures flexibility and safety without forcing trekkers to rush in case of unexpected situations.
