ITINERARY

Day 1Drive from Kathgodam to Gogina.

Drive Distance: 235 km | Drive Duration: 10-11 hours approx | Pick up point: Kathgodam Railway Station | Altitude: Kathgodam – 550m. | Gogina – 2000 m. 

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathgodam to the remote Himalayan village of Gogina. The route winds through picturesque hill towns, river valleys, and forested mountain roads. As you move deeper into the Kumaon region, the landscape becomes quieter and more pristine. Upon arrival at Gogina, check into your homestay or campsite. Spend the evening resting, acclimatizing, and attending a trek briefing.

Day 2Trek from Gogina to Namik.

Trek Distance: 5-6 km approx. | Trek Duration: 6-7 hours approx. | Altitude: Namik – 2150 m | GPS DATA

The trek starts with a gradual ascent through terraced fields and forest trails. You’ll pass traditional Kumaoni villages, wooden houses, and flowing streams along the way. The trail offers beautiful views of surrounding ridges and distant snow peaks. By afternoon, reach Namik village, known for its hot water springs and peaceful mountain setting. Overnight stay at Namik.

Day 3Trek from Namik to Bajimanian Kharak.

Trek Distance: 6 km approx.  | Trek Duration: 5-6 hrs approx. | Altitude: Bajimanian Kharak – 3000 m. | GPS DATA 

Today’s trek takes you deeper into alpine terrain. The trail climbs steadily through dense forests before opening into wide grasslands known as Bajimanian Kharak. These expansive meadows are surrounded by rolling ridges and towering Himalayan peaks, making them ideal for camping. Enjoy a calm evening watching the changing colors of the mountains as the sun sets.

Day 4Trek from Bajimanian Kharak to Thal Tok.

Trek Distance: 5 km approx. | Trek Duration: 4-5 hrs approx | Altitude: Thal Tok – 3400 m. | GPS DATA 

The route today moves across high-altitude meadows and gentle ridgelines. You’ll traverse open landscapes with uninterrupted mountain views, occasionally crossing small streams and rocky patches. The walk is long yet scenic, offering a true sense of Himalayan wilderness. Reach Thal Tok, a quiet campsite set amidst alpine surroundings, and settle in for the night.

Day 5Trek from Thal Tok to Namik Via Ranthan Top.

Trek Distance: 14-15 km approx.  | Trek Duration: 10-12 hrs approx. | Altitude: Namik – 2150 m. | Ranthan Top – 3931 m. | GPS DATA 

This is the most rewarding day of the trek. An early start leads to the climb toward Ranthan Top, the highest point of the journey. From the summit, soak in breathtaking panoramic views of snow-clad peaks and vast valleys stretching in all directions. After spending time at the top, descend gradually toward Namik, retracing part of the trail through meadows and forests. Overnight stay at Namik.

Day 6Trek from Namik to Gogina.

Trek Distance: 6-7 km approx.  | Trek Duration: 5-6 hrs approx. | Altitude: Gogina– 2000 m. | GPS DATA 

Begin your descent back to Gogina through familiar forest trails and village paths. The downhill walk is relaxed and allows you to enjoy the surroundings at an easy pace. On reaching Gogina, check into your stay and enjoy a well-earned rest. This is your final night in the mountains.

Day 7Drive from Gogina to Kathgodam.

Drive Distance: 235 km | Drive Duration: 10-11 hours approx | Drop point: Kathgodam Railway Station |  Altitude: Kathgodam – 550 m.

After breakfast, drive back from Gogina to Kathgodam, marking the end of your Ranthan Kharak Trek. Depart with unforgettable memories of alpine meadows, quiet villages, and sweeping Himalayan views.

  • Exclusion

    • Meals during road journeys are not provided.

    • Any expense incurred for Personal Purposes.

    • Any expense not specified in the inclusion list is not included in the package.

    • We would like to inform you that should you choose to withdraw from the trek, we will be unable to provide reimbursement for any costs related to accommodation or meals.

    • Transportation from Kathgodam to Gogina and Return.

    • Hotel stay is not provided in Kathgodam.

CANCELLATION POLICY & REFUND POLICY

  • Special Cancellation Policy 

       A) We have implemented a special cancellation policy:

  1.  Before 60 Days: 90% Refund.
  2.  31-60 Days: 75% Refund.
  3.  Within 30 Days: 50% Refund.
  4.  Within 14 Days: No Refund.

Payment & Booking Policy

A booking fee of ₹5,000 is required to confirm your spot. The remaining trek fee must be paid at least 15 days before the trek start date. If the full payment is not received on time, your booking may be cancelled. The ₹5,000 booking fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Our cancellation policy applies to the entire trek fee, not just the booking amount. For any questions or assistance with payment, feel free to contact us.

       B) Rescheduling Policy

  • Rescheduling Within the Same Trip or Changing the Trek.
  • Rescheduling is subject to availability. Trek costs may vary depending on the location and will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Guests have the option to reschedule their trek and utilize the amount paid within 1 year.

 

  • Refund Process: Refunds will be issued by mail only and processed within 15 business days from the date of cancellation.
  • Unforeseen Changes: In the event of an emergency, we may reroute treks to alternative trails. Mental preparedness for such situations is advised.
  • Documents Required: Trekkers must carry a photocopy of their photo ID, along with the mandatory Medical Certificate and Disclaimer forms for trek permissions before and during the trek

FAQ

Do I need any prior experience?

No prior trekking experience is required for the Ranthan Kharak Trek. It is beginner-friendly, but participants should be reasonably fit and prepared to walk for 6–7 hours a day. We recommend starting basic cardio or endurance training at least one month before the trek. This can include activities such as jogging or running 5 km daily to build stamina and ensure a more enjoyable experience on the trail.

How do I reach Kathgodam, Uttarakhand ?

Kathgodam is well connected by rail and road. The most convenient option is to take an overnight or early morning train from Delhi to Kathgodam. Alternatively, you can drive or take a bus from Delhi to Kathgodam, which takes approximately 6–7 hours.

Will there be mobile network or internet access?

Mobile connectivity is available up to Gogina. Beyond that, there is limited or no network during the trek. It’s a great opportunity to unplug and immerse yourself in nature.

Is the trek safe for solo travellers and women?

Absolutely. Nomadic World maintains a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment. We frequently host solo travellers and female participants, with trained staff and small-group attention.
 
 

Can children or senior citizens participate?

Children (10+ years) can join with proper fitness and enthusiasm.

Senior citizens can participate if they are in good health and medically cleared for high-altitude trekking.
